This page is dedicated to the now rare HQ colour – Nutmeg Metallic. At the time, Nutmeg Metallic was quite popular , especially on up-market HQs; Statesman’s, Monaro LS’s, and Premiers. There were a good number of Nutmeg GTS coupes running around once. The colour was used on a number of subsequent Holdens models right up to the HZ SLE Statesman. Fords and Valiants also wore a very similar colour, usually on their more luxury models, as did Mercedes and Chevrolet Corvetttes.
Even amongst today’s colourful Black, White and Silver plastic cars, a few courageous car makers (BMW and Mazda) have recently slipped in metallic brown – BMW and Mazda so there is hope for a comeback!!
